Center for Health Decision Science faculty and researchers maintain a broad research focus. For many areas of emphasis there are activities in low, middle and high income countries and a linkage to both the policy arena and the field. In addition to analytic work focused on strategies for prevention and treatment of communicable and chronic diseases, investigators are working on cross-cutting themes such as women's health in developing countries, economic evaluation of new medical technologies and pharmaceuticals (PEEMT), strengthening health systems, and the intersection of the environment and health. In addition to applied work, investigators conduct research to develop new approaches, both novel methods and new applications of existing techniques, that address contemporary clinical and public health problems.
