Sun-Young
Sun-Young Kim is a graduate of the Ph.D. Program in Health Policy at

Harvard University. She is a Research Scientist with the Center for Health Decision Science focused on developing mathematical models for improving health information collection in developing countries and for aiding resource allocation among health interventions, as well as for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation sponsored Grand Challenge 13 project. She is also working on GAVI investment cases as a part of the Global HPV vaccine modeling project. Dr. Kim's doctoral research focused on developing and applying mathematical models to evaluate the cost-effectiveness, externalities, and affordability of different hepatitis B vaccination programs in different settings. Her research interests include using mathematical modeling techniques to evaluate the economics of health interventions for populations in need. She is especially interested in vaccine economics issues including resource allocation among vaccination programs, optimization of strategies, and vaccine financing. Dr. Kim earned a BS in pharmacology and an MPH with health economics concentration from Seoul National University.
