Thomas
Gaziano is jointly appointed to the Divisions of Cardiovascular Medicine and
Social Medicine and Health Inequalities at Brigham & Women's Hospital,
HarvardMedicalSchool.
Dr. Gaziano is certified as a Diplomat in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular
Diseases and has expertise in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in
developing countries including the epidemiology and management of its risk
factors. His research includes the development of decision analytic models to
assess the cost-effectiveness of various screening, prevention and management
decisions--including in developing countries. Dr. Gaziano's international
experience includes two years at
OxfordUniversitySouth Africa as the first Lancet International
Fellow and recently four months in
India evaluating CVD epidemiology
and cost-effective strategies for its management.
He has served as a consultant and author for
the Disease Control Priorities Project organized by the World Bank, WHO, and
the
FogartyInternationalCenter,
NIH and funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
